The BenQ LH830ST is a Full HD short throw laser projector designed for golf simulator rooms that need a large image from a limited projection distance. With 4,000 ANSI lumens, a 0.496 throw ratio and a compact 3.4 kg chassis, it is well suited to indoor golf installations where mounting depth is limited.
⛳ Why It Works for Golf Simulators
- 4,000 ANSI lumens for a bright image in controlled indoor environments
- Full HD 1920 × 1080 native resolution
- Short throw ratio 0.496 for large images from a short distance
- 16.7 ms input lag at 1080p/60Hz
- 2D keystone and corner adjustment for installation flexibility
- Simulation picture mode
- IP6X sealed optical engine for dust protection
📽️ Short Throw Projection in Full HD
The 0.496 throw ratio corresponds to a theoretical distance of approximately 1.98 metres for a 4-metre-wide 16:9 image. Because the projector uses fixed zoom, the mounting position should be planned around the required image width and screen format.
🎯 Image Adjustment & Simulator Integration
Horizontal and vertical keystone correction of ±30° and corner adjustment help align the image. The projector supports screen formats including 4:3, 16:9, 16:10, 1:1 and 5:4, which can be useful when matching different impact screen formats. BenQ also lists 360° installation orientation.

📐 Planning Your Indoor Golf Installation
Projection distances should be treated as planning estimates before digital correction. Check the image width, aspect ratio of your impact screen, mounting position and safe swing clearance before installation. The LH830ST does not feature optical zoom or optical lens shift, so accurate projector placement is important.
Important: a ceiling mount / projector support is not included with the BenQ LH830ST and must be purchased separately.
🔌 Connectivity & Control
The LH830ST provides 2 × HDMI 2.0b, 2 × USB-A, RJ45 LAN, RS-232 and a 3.5 mm audio output. LAN control and OTA firmware support can simplify management in permanent simulator installations.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is the BenQ LH830ST a native 4K projector?
No. Its native resolution is 1920 × 1080 Full HD. It can accept compatible 4K input signals, but the projected image remains Full HD.
How far from the screen should the projector be installed?
Use the 0.496 throw ratio to estimate lens-to-image distance. For example, a 4-metre-wide 16:9 image requires approximately 1.98 metres before installation tolerances and digital correction.
Does the LH830ST have optical zoom?
No. BenQ lists a fixed zoom, so projector placement should be calculated before installation.
Does it have lens shift?
BenQ does not list optical lens shift for the LH830ST. Positioning and mounting therefore need to be planned carefully.
What input lag does it have?
BenQ lists 16.7 ms at 1080p/60Hz.
Can it run continuously?
Yes. BenQ lists the LH830ST for 24/7 operation.
Is a ceiling mount included?
No. A ceiling mount / projector support is not included and must be purchased separately.
Does the projector replace a golf simulator?
No. It displays the image from your simulator setup. A complete installation also requires an impact screen or display surface, launch monitor, computer and simulator software.
