📊 Ball & Club Metrics

The Approach R50 uses its three high-speed cameras to track more than 15 ball and club metrics for practice and golf simulation.

Club tracking stickers are required to record club metrics. Garmin includes 250 club stickers with the Approach R50.

In addition to shot data, the R50 records high-speed impact footage that lets you review a close-up view of club-to-ball contact.

📐 Garmin Approach R50 Indoor Space Requirements

Garmin recommends enough room for both accurate tracking and a completely unrestricted golf swing.

• Recommended ceiling height: 9 ft / approximately 2.74 m or more
• Recommended ball-to-net or screen distance: around 8 ft / 2.44 m or more
• Recommended room width: 10 ft / approximately 3.05 m or more
• Right & left-handed setup: around 13 ft / 3.96 m or more of width
• Minimum hitting mat size: approximately 2 × 2 ft / 66 × 66 cm

The ball and R50 should also sit at approximately the same surface height. If you use a raised hitting mat, the launch monitor may need to be raised accordingly.
